Lafayette’s own Susan C. Thomas has hit the national publishing scene with a new book by Lark Jewelry Publishing, entitled “Link It!” By day, Susan is the art teacher at East Tipp Middle School. On her own time she is an inventive jewelry artist, having developed several unusual techniques with unusual materials. Thomas’s book features the artist’s colorful chain mail jewelry with rubber o-rings, as well as basic formation techniques, and a strong and varied list of projects suitable for all levels of experience. The cover photo features a handmade glass star bead by Artists' Own artist, Lisa Walsh and shows off the strong artistic talents of our local community. “Link It!” has had strong reviews in Art Jewelry Magazine and is listed on Amazon.com at 4 ½ stars with very positive reviews from purchasers.
The public is invited to this free family-friendly event. It is a chance to meet and learn from nationally-recognized talent working right here in Lafayette.
